Congratulations to those students that presented their research projects at the Preliminary Round at The City College of New York on Sunday, March 5. More than 700 students submitted applications to the 2017 NYCSEF for a chance compete for a variety of cash and prizes including an all-expense paid trip to represent NYC at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
This year 123 projects will be advancing to present at the Finals Round in The American Museum of Natural History on Tuesday, March 28. The results from the Preliminary Round are posted below.

Finalists are required to arrive at the musuem for registration and project set-up at 8:30AM. Finalists should follow the same project display guidelines used for the Preliminary Round. Finalists may use the same display from the Preliminary Round, or may amend the display in accordance with the guidelines. Please be aware that NYCSEF does not provide project boards; you are required to come fully prepared to present.
The NYCSEF Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, March 31 at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center at the Borough of Manhattan Community College from 4PM – 6PM. ISEF finalists, Special Award, and NYCSEF Award winners will be announced during this ceremony. THE STUDENT RECIPIENT OR A FAMILY MEMBER MUST BE PRESENT TO CLAIM ALL AWARDS – THIS INCLUDES THE OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT NYC AND ATTEND ISEF.
Approximately 13 projects will be selected to advance and represent New York City in May at the 2017 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Los Angeles, CA. ISEF finalists will receive an all expenses paid trip to Los Angeles, CA and compete for over $4,000,000 in scholarships and awards.
